Thank you guys. Paul was the deserving winner of the Veterans (beat me in the final 2-1). He was outstanding throughout the day, on & off the pitch, as usual. The event ran extremely smoothly as he oversaw 3 tournaments at the same time and still found the energy to reach two finals! However, his greatest achievement is still the number and quality of recruits as a new generation of middle school kids is discovering Subbuteo thanks to his dedication to the ASA. And this one seems to be particularly fierce judging from their screams! Miguel & I had a great time this weekend and actually even the drive back home was pretty good. A lucky day for the SCC We look forward to be back. Meanwhile keep in mind there should be a CT Open in January during the Winter Break. We are looking at the weekends of Sunday 15th or 22nd (preferably the 22nd) and at locations of Wallingford or Farmington (pending attendance and/or venue availability). Let me know if you'd be interested. Thanks again to all the MD crew. Hopefully in June more players will join us. Great to see Alex, too!

Some thoughts on the event.
A thoroughly enjoyable day. A highlight for me was seeing 12 high schoolers coming to play. This is by far our biggest number of returning players. The u19 viking cup was a big success as a result, and I think many of those players will be back in future. The level of play in that event was also quite high in my opinion.
Mass played very well all day and really enjoyed his victory in the final over me, which he secured with a final 10 second goal. Mass is such a fine player who when on his game is so tough to play. So well done to Massimo on his second holiday silver title.
Thanks to all for attending. I look forward to running this event again next year. There will be links to some pics of the day soon. Sorry, no video this time as I could not locate my camera!

Me 2:1 Alex in Open and Massimo 3:2 Me in GG OT, not 0-0.
Looking forward to the Zombie Cup and maybe some other games played over Winter Break!

Thanks to Paul for another incredible weekend started with our friendlies at the Shrine, congratulations to him ,Massimo and Matt for their wins .
The Veterans Semifinal with Paul was a 1-1 result in regulation with his win 2-1 in OT with a GG.
It has been Fantastic to play again at such competitive level, hopefully we will get something going here in Tampa and come for the Nationals as well.
I am already thinking about next year.
