Hello everyone.
I haven't seen anyone talking about the Total Soccer line of figures (that perhaps will be comparable to the new Subbuteo line) and I just got a bunch in from England and I wanted to share some pics. They come on a base very similar to the Zuego base which to me seems a bit lighter than Rex C's or Sureshots. They play well enough for my tastes, nothing special, but I'm not sure if I have the skill to really determine their quality. What is unique is the figures.
The figures are made of a rubber or more flexible plastic so they seem near impossible to break. I don't think they are proportionately as pleasing as the figure we all know and love, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The figures are not glued into the bases as far as I can tell, but have a bit if a bulbous end stuck into the bases so they hold firm. There are loads of decals on these figures and I have to say that from a slight distance, they look pretty sharp. If you get in real close you can see the flaws in, what I assume to be, the machine paint jobs.
They are certainly cheap enough though. I would recommend these for anytime you are demo'ing the game in public or playing a lot with kids or any other situation where you don't want your finest teams to get broken or ruined. Alright, enough with the chatter and on to the pics.
