I finished making a six a side pitch so people can demo the game at the Rowdies playoff game next Saturday while we play on the big pitch. It's made of felt and the figures flick pretty well considering. I used fabric markers for the lines. They aren't as bright as I would have liked but they stain the fabric so they don't interfere with play. I shortened the ratio between the quadrants so people can shoot at a distance closer to the real game. I figure the best way to get new people interested in playing is giving them more chances to shoot. The shooting lines are 8 1/2" from the goal line instead of the 11 1/2" on the Pegasus pitch. Center line is 4" from the center line to the shooting line. The total playing area is 25" x 17". Both pitches will have the new wood stands that I built. They have four leveling knobs on the top that have about an 1" travel so we should be able to get them level even in the parking lot. Both stands hold a standard pitch so if we end up having 4 people over here again, if one of you guys can bring your pitch we could have two games going on at once (played at a decent height!)

Wow sounds awesome. Also sounds like you have caught the Subbuteo fever hahaha
I remember my first work paycheck when I was 13-14 or so went straight towards new Subbuteo bases!

Nice, I like the look of that 6 a side.

If I can get to the fabric store on Friday I may buy a lighter colored piece of felt so the lines show up better.
I think it'll be a good size for new people to try out the game. You can reach most figures from behind the goal so they won't have to worry about moving around the table much.
---
Daniel, I should be set up by 4:30 on Saturday so we can play anytime after that. Also, could you let Alex know he is more than welcome to come out, even if he's not staying for the game. If he can't make it, we should try to get together over at his place sometime soon. I'd love to meet him.

Hey Brandon, I am thinking ahead about that Saturday and it is actually one of my siblings birthday that day. I will most likely be out to eat with family until around 8 on Saturday evening.
I don't think this will be an issue though. Can you send me a PM with your e-mail and I will start a conversation with you, Paul, Andrew, and I to discuss a plan for that day. Last thing I want is you to come all the way up and not be able to play as much Subbuteo as you can handle.
I can also put you in touch with Alex, I know he has some health issues currently and most likely won't make it out to a game, but would still want to make time to get together with you when he is up for it.

My comment about Alex was actually directed to Daniel in Tampa. He was over playing with Alex the other week.

Forgot there is another Daniel on the forums now, I'm not used to it haha
That would make way more sense considering that this is in your club section. Duh.

Especially confusing since Daniel L's user name uses "Dan" but I know him as "Daniel", while Daniel C's user name uses "Daniel", but you sign off as "Dan" in PMs. Thankfully the guy I play wargames with (named Dan) goes by DJ. Otherwise I'd be in real trouble. HAHA.

Here is the updated pitch. I made it on a lighter color so the lines show up better, made the goalkeeper box smaller and got rid of the penalty lines. I figure for people just testing out the game, we don't need to incorporate penalty shots and the extra lines might just confuse them.
