This is a tournament aimed at locals as it takes place over four months. The plan is to follow the dates and format of the FA Cup.
Draw for the 1st Round of the GRAS Cup. Ties to be played on or near February 16th.
Real Finger (Scott Ware) v Putteridge Shipbuilding Academy (Jonathan Ward) Rogue River Stags (Michael Koster) v yet to be named team (Zach Boswell) Lazyboy Athletic (Eric Albertson) v Jenks City Rebels (Jen Waligora) Playing Coy (Thatcher Berends) v Cambridge United Penguins (Dave Waligora) Effington U (Amanda Ewer) v Union Avenue Rangers (Brian Lambert)
Games to be played at SpeakEZ Lounge in Grand Rapids.
Three teams await the winners of this round of games:
Myers View Magpies (Paul Pate) Coit Park Rangers (Mike Ewer) Barcarock Catarams (Nathan Pate)
Aside from the seeding of three players into the quarter-finals, there is no seeding and the draw is random each round. We held FA Cup tradition by placing pool balls in a bag and drawing them.

Very cool. I hope I can get a good size club going near me. This sounds like a lot of fun!

Quarter-final results today:
Myers View Magpies 1 Coit Park Rangers 0 aet Magpies scored with 1 minute left in extra time to win and continue CPR's lengthy drought against them Barcarock Catarams 3 Cambridge United Penguins 1 A decent effort by Penguins against a team that beat them 6-0 last time out FC Boom 2 Real Finger 2 aet (1-1 regulation) 2-0 shootout Fantastic effort by Real, playing just their second competitive game, coming back twice from behind to force a shootout.
The final match between Lazyboy Athletic and Union Avenue Rangers has been postponed. Draw for the semis will take place in conclusion of that match.

Final match was Lazyboy Athletic 0 Union Avenue Rangers 1 aet
Semi-final draw: Myers View Magpies v Barcarock Catarams (father v son) Union Avenue Rangers v FC Boom
Curious that our cup draw has followed the pattern of the FA Cup. Man U and Chelsea fight for the right to play Man City, while the other side of the draw is a lower ranked team against one from a lower tier.

Tomorrow Saturday the GRAS Cup semi-final between Myers View Magpies and Barcarock Catarams will be broadcast live on Ustream. The game will take place at SpeakEZ Lounge in Grand Rapids Michigan at 12.30pm Eastern. www.ustream.tv/channel/misubbuteoWe would welcome some viewers from around the world to join us for this first live stream. Thanks to today's technology a dream of 10 years ago has been made much easier, so we are glad to be able to present this to you. The match is between Paul Pate and his 14-year-old son Nathan. Nate's Catarams are the favourites in this game but there is not a lot to choose between them. It should be a great contest. Paul is currently ranked second in Michigan, while Nate reached the final of the last ASA Open held here in January and currently has the second seed for the forthcoming tournament in May. The winner will compete for the GRAS Cup title on or near the weekend of the FA Cup final.

Great video! Both players showed a lot of skill and the ability to make a bunch of tight flicks and accurate touch ups. The through ball for the first goal was executed perfectly! One tip though on flicking technique: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKkpZ5_tfAYGreat stuff MiSFA!!! I'll have to keep a better eye out for the next live stream!
