It would be interesting to know and discuss what do you think about these two bases, especially from players that have been using both.... thanks

Well, you know I already prefer the softer touch of the VST bases. The Rex-C are still quality but the softer touch on the VST is easier for a beginning player. They seem to shoot the same for me.
I haven't used the new Sniper bases yet. The guy from Charlotte that I started playing with ordered some so I'll probably get to try them out next month to see how they compare with my VST.

Hey Alex, you play with Extreme Works why you asking about Rex-Cs? My (long) 2cents, keep in mind this is all just my opinion: VSTs allow for better controllable fast/rolling play than Rex-Cs. From an offense perspective it feels smoother to make quick plays. Basically along the lines of what Brandon said, they give a bit better touch, but I feel it is most noticeable when playing fast. As for shooting, the VSTs, at least for me, required a change in technique to get a consistent chip. They can still shoot well, but required some practice to get comfortable with. I've been playing Rex-Cs for years now and so I can't really say which is easier to shoot with per say because I was accustomed to shooting with my Rex Cs. In my opinion it would be very interesting to compare your Extreme Works to the VSTs as they have similar base designs. As for other things I have noticed with VSTs, you can't curl with them compared to Rex Cs. Alex you are one of the best at curling in the U.S. so maybe you would have some success with curling the VSTs but I haven't been able to. Finally, a last thing I'll comment on regarding the VSTs is about the inner weight/ring. I have noticed in several of my bases that the inner ring does not always go flush against the outer base, most likely due to the inner ring being not 100% the same size as the outer base. The gap is marginal at most, but I am curious to see if it throws off the shooting some, but haven't gotten around to testing that. I don't think it will. Now, switching over to the Sniper bases, I don't have any game experience with them, but I did get to shoot one last week. One thing I noticed was that they are slightly higher than the VSTs, so I'm not sure what effects that will cause. I would imagine that the touch would be comarable to the VSTs however. On the other hand, they definitely shoot differently than the VSTs. Most of the change in technique I had to make to chip consistently with the VSTs was not applicable to chipping with the Sniper bases. I seemed to get the best chip on the Sniper base when I went back to how I shot with my RexCs, but that is just an observation based on only a few practice shots. Hopefully I will be able to mess with them a bit more this week, but we will see what TableSoccerUSA says about that!

First of all I thank you for your comments and reply to your question, saying that I already saw in first person the differences of the tchaa4 with my bases, now I was try to figure out how my opponents could change their game switching from rex-c's to tchaa 4,may be in the future I will get a set of snipers too. thanks again for your "two cents" and hopefully I will see you soon at the other side of the pitch.

Hi Brandon. You mentioned that someone form your area would be getting a set of sniper bases. Can you (or anyone else) comment on the difference between those and the VST's?

Craig has some. The VSTs seem to have just a slightly lighter touch but the bevel is about the same so they seem to chip relatively similar. My VSTs are unvarnished and I didn't notice a difference in distance between those and the Snipers. I only flicked with them for a few minutes so Craig could give you a better report. He's at a tournament today but I'm sure he'll respond shortly.
My guess is that for newer players, you could easily switch between them without much problem. Probably only the veterans would notice the smallest differences. I wouldn't upgrade to the Sniper because they are better or anything, but if you want more bases to compliment your current VSTs (for more colors or something) then I'm sure they would fit in along side them.

I just re-read Daniel's post. So for someone with a beginner's shooting technique such as myself, they shoot the same, but it looks like if you are a consistently good shooter like Daniel, then the technique is a bit different between the VST and Snipers.

Thanks Brandon - I've ordered some VST's from Paul so we'll see how they flick.

You're welcome. The touch is wonderful. They are definitely worth the price. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Post back once you've tried them out.
