Announcing US and International Subbuteo Tournament events in Chicago on August 8-9, 2015:
The Chicago United Table Soccer Club, in partnership with the American Subbuteo Association (ASA), FISTF and WASPA, is proud to formally announce its hosting of the 2015 ASA Nationals Tournament, WASPA Tournament and the 2015 US FISTF International Open on the weekend of August 8-9, 2015.
The Venue:
All matches will be held at Step Ahead Sports (http://www.stepaheadsports.com) located at 401 Remmington, Bolingbrook, IL, approximately 30 miles southwest of Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (35 minute drive) and 23 miles from Chicago's Midway Airport (30 minute drive). It is approximately 30 miles southwest of downtown Chicago (45 minute drive). There will be ample transportation and hotel accomodations in the area.
We are very excited to partner with Tony Kees and Step Ahead Sports to have access to such a wonderful facility. It is a large, well-lit football friendly facility. We anticipate ample spectators, plenty of excitement and an ample opportunity to promote our sport!
The Itinerary:
There will be more details to follow, however, we anticipate having access to the facility all day ..
Friday, August 7: We will be setting up the facility in the morning and afternoon. It will be available for friendly matches in the late afternoon and evening. So, plan to come out to meet and greet players and to participate in some friendly matches. We also hope to complete individual and team match pairings in the evening.
Saturday, August 8: We will begin play at 8:00 am. On tap will be the primary US National Tournament events as well as some team play and a WASPA sanctioned International Event. We will cap the evening off with a Champions Dinner.
Sunday, August 9: Again, we will begin play at 8:00 am. The matches will turn to International play and we will conclude team play. The international tournament will be a FISTF sanctioned International Open.
Registration: We will establish a method for formal registration shortly as well as announce any participation fees that may be required.
We warmly invite as many international players as possible from the Subbuteo community to fly to Chicago for what will be some wonderful competition, hospitality and friendship for these three days.
We will communicate event news via the Chicago United Table Soccer Club and ASA Facebook pages , so tune in.
We look forward to a wonderful tournament.
