Hi All, My name is John Coyle. I was quite active in the ASA back in the mid/late nineties, and then a little bit in the last few years when I discovered Tom Shirley and the Chattanooga club. I'm not sure I know any of you, but if someone recognizes my name from the past, I'd love a pm to reconnect. Does anyone know how to get a set of the Rex C bibases that Paul demos on his youtube channel? I've always been a traditionalist, using whole figures from manufacturers like subbuteo, zeugo, astrobase, etc. But every time Tom chips my keeper, I have a thought that I ought to try some of the new stuff. Any help would be appreciated. I have ordered some G2 (i think thats the name) bases from Paul. Sorry for the ramble. Thanks.

John, Steve Laskey from Cincinnati is the distributor of Rex Cs in the U.S. His e-mail is: queencitytsc@gmail.com He should be able to answer any questions you have the bases. They are a favorite here in the U.S. I would say. A lot of players, including me, use them. I actually have 3 sets... Of course, it is all preference and some people won't and don't like the play of them and favor other good bases such as Sureshots or Astrobases. Good to see another player come around. Dan (MD)

Hey Dan,
Looks like queencitysc@gmail.com no longer exists. I sent an email and it bounced right back. Do we have another way of contacting him?
Thanks
John

I had mistyped the mail address, it actually is active. He does sell the Rex C bases, they are fifty dollars a set.

I picked up some Rex C's from Steve awhile back and just started to use them. They seem to need more force to get them going and then they stop abruptly, too abruptly for my tastes, even right after I polish them. They just don't seem to glide like some that I've seen in Paul's videos. Is this how they play and something I should try to get used to or is there a way to get them to slide more that I'm unaware of?

Have you tried varnishing them?

Yes, varnishing will work wonders for you.

No, I haven't varnished them. All the bases I've owned up until this point haven't required varnishing so it didn't even cross my mind. I'll give it a shot and let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the tip!

I got the bases varnished and managed to play with them for a good four hours last night. Man, you guys are kidding! These bases are great. Thanks for the info!!!!
All I have left to do is to find/create and print out some team decals to put on them. Thanks again.

Does anyone know of another source either in N. America or Europe that sells these bases? I've been trying to get in touch with queencitytsc@gmail.com and have been having no luck.
Thanks, Todd
