Our next open tournament in Michigan, ASA sanction pending, is Sunday May 5th. We have fixed the timing at 11am-5pm (arrive by 10.45am please) We would welcome anyone travelling to this event. Given recent growth we are expecting a double-figure turnout. Anyone from out of town contact me for info on logistics. RSVP on Facebook or via info@mistfa.org www.facebook.com/events/172558302898439/Location: SpeakEZ Lounge 600 N Monroe Ave Grand Rapids MI 49503 About 10 craft beers on tap. Watch the morning's EPL games. Maybe chef Chad will come up with something special for us for lunch too.

Sounds like you have a consistent venue that can not be beat there Mike!!!
I noticed in the video you posted that everyone plays with the plastic goalies. Is this just for uniformity or keeping costs down? Either way, go with what works but it might make a tough transition if heading to a tournament! Seems like you are having a fantastic growth up there though, keep it up as it is great keeping up to date on new developments.

Yes we play with standard sized keepers not the tournament ones. I don't expect anyone here will be travelling to outside tournaments any time soon. I have made everyone aware of the use of the larger keepers.
And yes it's to keep costs down. Two spacemen cost more than a team.

Hi Mike,
Sign me up for this one. I'll be up there for an early Mother's day visit. I have two of the larger goalies so my opponents are welcome to use one when they play against me. Looking forward to it!

Very good Brandon! Look forward to it. I have a couple myself, if we get enough we could have all games covered. Otherwise we'll just do as you said.

I assume that you won't need local accommodation if you're in-state visiting family?

ASA sanctioned tournament currently has 16 names. 4 from Hamilton plus Mr Flickmiles above. Possibility of an U19 tourney too.

Wow! What a great turnout! I can only hope that once my club is celebrating 10 years, I'll be getting 16 people at my tournaments. I have a lot of work to do, especially considering I'm in college basketball country!

Michigan #1 Peter Alegi of Lansing has a "probable" status as the 17th signup for the tournament. Hoping he can fully commit as it wouldn't be our biggest tournament without our best player.

I have to add to Brandon's post, that so far the two of us in Carolina are both from Michigan......

Should I be happy two Michigan players are pioneering elsewhere or sad they both left? What's funny is, I run the game in Michigan and I'm not from here. Nor is the best player in the state.
